India starts indigenous power grid chip development program

India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) began consultations to develop domestic power semiconductor chips and modules across the full value chain—design, fabrication, packaging, and testing. Builders in chip design, module engineering, and supply chain should expect government RFPs and incentives. Atma Nirbharta in semiconductors is now policy priority.
