Nova Spectral AI raises Rs 21.2 Cr seed to build infrared sensor chips

Bengaluru-based Nova Spectral AI raised ₹21.2 Cr ($2.3 Mn) in a seed round led by Shastra VC, with Equirus InnovateX Fund and angel investors participating. Founded earlier this year, it is building short-wave infrared image sensor chips using colloidal quantum dots and standard silicon CMOS processes. It plans to develop a field-ready prototype within 18 months and has in-principle approval to incubate at IISc Bengaluru.
