IRDAI's Insurance Commission Overhaul Delayed Until April 2027

IRDAI's proposed overhaul of insurance commission structures won't come into force before April 2027 due to extensive consultation and rule-making required, per former IRDAI Member Nilesh Sathe. Insurtech and InsurTech distribution builders should prepare for structural change—lower commissions and new agent eligibility rules are coming, so lock in partnerships and margins now before regulatory reset.
