How much GST is collected in India each month?

History

Gross GST is everything collected (CGST, SGST, IGST, on domestic sales and imports) before refunds. Net GST is what is left after ₹27,001 crore of refunds. Both figures are provisional.

How we got this number

1. Take the 'Total Gross GST Revenue' line from GSTN's report for September 2026: ₹2,03,521 crore, against ₹1,77,365 crore in September 2025.
2. Read net revenue from the same table: ₹2,03,521 crore gross minus ₹27,001 crore refunds gives ₹1,76,520 crore net.
3. Put it next to earlier months from GSTN's monthly reports: ₹1,94,184 crore in May, ₹1,94,812 crore in June, ₹2,11,205 crore in July and ₹1,99,853 crore in August 2026.

What this number does not tell you

• GSTN marks the monthly numbers as provisional; they can change slightly when finalised.
• The figure is GST collected during the month, which mostly reflects sales made in the month before.
• Gross includes GST on imports (₹65,525 crore in September 2026); domestic gross GST alone was ₹1,37,996 crore.
