For tool-page facts. Authority: our claims policy. Last updated 1 Sep 2026.
What we publish
A claim about a third party — a price, a funding figure, a named customer, a person's role — is publishable only if a reader can check it in one click and we recorded the date we checked it. No source, no claim. Editorial score bars were removed on 1 Sep 2026; we do not publish ratings we did not measure.
How to request a removal
Email hello@productgrowth.in with the page URL, the sentence that is wrong, and (if you have it) the source that shows the correct fact. If you arrived from a tool page, the link already includes that page in the query string — leave it in the subject line.
Our commitment
We acknowledge within 2 working days. A claim a company disputes is removed while we check it, not after — because if we have no source for it, there is nothing to weigh against the objection.
Corrections to older pages
An outside check of the site on 2 to 4 November 2026 found wrong figures on older pages. Each page now carries a "Corrected" note at the top, and the fix is listed here with its primary source. The right figures come from a research pass that names each source; we have not yet re-read every original document ourselves, so tell us if one is still wrong.
- 4 Nov 2026 · India VC funding: the stat card said "$6B+" for 2025. Bain & Company and IVCA put venture capital and growth equity at about $16 billion in 2025 (India Venture Capital Report 2026, March 2026). Tracxn counts $10.3 to $10.5 billion for tech startups only.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Insurance penetration: we said 4.2% of GDP. The IRDAI Annual Report 2024-25 says 3.7% (life 2.7%, non-life 1.0%), the same as 2023-24. We also dropped an unsourced "less than a third of developed markets" line.
- 4 Nov 2026 · UPI Lite limits: we said ₹500. RBI circular RBI/2024-25/93 (4 December 2024) set ₹1,000 for one offline payment and ₹5,000 for the total balance.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Crypto TDS section: we cited only Section 194S. The 1% TDS on virtual digital assets now sits in Section 393(1) [Table Sl. No. 8(vi)] of the Income-tax Act, 2025, from 1 April 2026. The rate is unchanged.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Real-money gaming and GST: the page described how platforms absorbed the 28% GST on deposits as if that business were legal. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans online money games, skill or chance; its Rules took effect on 1 May 2026 (PIB, MeitY). The page now says so and is kept as a record.
- 4 Nov 2026 · RBI cross-border payment aggregators: we described the 2023 circular and import/export escrow accounts. The RBI Payment Aggregator Directions, 2025 (15 September 2025) repealed it: separate InCA and OCA accounts, ₹25 lakh a transaction, net worth ₹15 crore then ₹25 crore.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Replit free plan: the short answer said Replit "starts free". The pricing page we read on 29 October 2026 lists no free plan; Core is $18 a month billed annually.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Gemini context window: we said 1 million tokens for Gemini 1.5 Pro. Google lists 2 million through the Gemini API (August 2024). The page compares older models and now says so.
- 4 Nov 2026 · AIS-156 battery rules: we cited Amendment 2, a 55°C limit and a "permanent" log. Amendment 3 (27 September 2022, Annex 8K): at least four temperature sensors, an alarm at 60°C with gradual power cut, and the latest data kept for at least one month.
- 4 Nov 2026 · Dark patterns: we listed "the 4 most common" patterns, a 48-hour warning rule that does not exist, and tied pre-ticked boxes only to DPDPA. The CCPA guidelines (30 November 2023) name 13 patterns; pre-ticked consent is barred by them and by Rule 4(9) of the E-Commerce Rules, 2020.
- 4 Nov 2026 · UPI average payment: the page used June 2026 (₹1,273). It now uses NPCI's September 2026 figures: ₹29.37 lakh crore ÷ 24.07 billion = ₹1,220 a payment.
- 4 Nov 2026 · UPI average ticket size: the card said ₹1,273 (June 2026) next to September 2026 volume and value. It is now ₹1,220, worked out from those two cards.
- 4 Nov 2026 · India population shown twice: the live counter (about 1.486 billion) and the card (1.476 billion) disagreed. The card is now the dated figure (1.476 billion at 1 January 2026); the counter is labelled a live estimate: that figure plus 0.78% a year.
Corrections to the daily brief
When a story in the brief was wrong, we fix the story page, the email archive and the podcast transcript, and list it here.
