How we got this number

  1. Take the 2025-26 total from the MoRTH written reply in the Rajya Sabha on 29 July 2026, as reported by ThePrint: ₹70,278.18 crore, of which ₹1,795 crore came from the annual pass.
  2. Take 2023-24 and 2024-25 from the same reply as reported by IBTimes India: ₹55,882.12 crore and ₹61,408.15 crore of FASTag toll revenue.
  3. Work out the growth: ₹70,278.18 crore against ₹61,408.15 crore is 14.4%.

What this number does not tell you

  • The Rajya Sabha reply itself was not on a page we could read. The figures come from ThePrint (29 July 2026) and IBTimes India (30 July 2026), who quote the reply. Both give the same total. They name different MPs as the questioner, which does not change the figures.
  • The 2023-24 and 2024-25 figures are described as FASTag toll revenue. The 2025-26 total includes ₹1,795 crore from the annual pass, which began in 2025-26, so the three years may not be counted on exactly the same basis.
  • MoRTH's own PIB release of 29 January 2026 gives a daily average, not a yearly total: around ₹186 crore a day on National Highway fee plazas in 2025-26 up to December 2025. That is an average over nine months and is not comparable with the full-year total.
