How we got this number

  1. Take the 'IPO (Total) [A+B]' row of Table 6 in SEBI's October 2026 Bulletin annexure tables: 70 issues and ₹42,038.8 crore for September 2026.
  2. Split it with the main board row (32 issues, ₹40,354.97 crore) and the SME row (38 issues, ₹1,683.83 crore); the two add up to the total.
  3. Put it next to the earlier months in the same row, which run from April to August 2026, and round each to the nearest crore.

What this number does not tell you

  • SEBI classes an IPO by its listing date, so the figure is for IPOs that listed in the month, not ones that opened for bids in it.
  • Of the ₹42,039 crore, ₹30,303 crore was offer for sale (money to existing shareholders) and ₹11,736 crore was fresh capital for the companies.
  • Other trackers count IPOs by opening date or by calendar half-year, so their monthly totals will not match SEBI's. This page follows SEBI's bulletin.
