How we got this number

  1. Open the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs release marking six years of PM SVANidhi (PIB, 31 May 2026).
  2. Read the minister's remarks for the amount disbursed and the number of vendors and loans.
  3. Read the "Key Achievements" list in the same release and compare. The amount matches; the loan count does not, so this page shows both and does not pick one.

What this number does not tell you

  • The release gives the loan count two ways, 1.05 crore+ and more than 1.12 crore. We do not know which wording is newer, and the page shows the range.
  • The amount is "over ₹17,800 crore", a floor, not an exact total.
  • The scheme gives small collateral-free working-capital loans; the release does not give an average loan size, so this page does not give one.
  • Disbursed means paid to vendors. The release also counts "loan sanctions", which can be higher than loans paid out.
